BUS? A BUS???

The wheels on the bus (don't) go round and round...

You wake up on a bus.

It's a very nice bus, though. Luxurious, even! The seats are comfy and can be used as beds, with pajamas also available for you to change into. It's stocked with enough food and drink to last a week or so, along with a bathroom that also has a shower and free toiletries to use. The downside, however, is that apparently you have to share—as you're not alone when you awaken.

It seems like you're not where you should be, either. The bus comes equipped with TV screens, but rather than any movie or show, it's reality TV in the most literal sense. You might even recognize a few faces over there in the terminal, but either way, you can watch the participants go about their day. You're as equally confused as they are, after all, even if miles (?) separate you.

For that matter, that's pretty much all you can do. You're stuck on this bus. You can't access where the driver's controls would be, and there's no driver to begin with; in fact, the bus isn't even moving. The doors are shut, and any attempt to break the windows will send you bouncing back. Opening the shutters will treat you to the enticing sight of... outside airport scenery. You're on airport grounds somewhere, but you can't tell anything other than that. If you do some digging around, though, one compartment on the bus contains a random assortment of card games and board games for you to entertain yourselves with.

Better get cozy, because you might be here for a while.

[ Claps his hands together!! ]

Let's take count of our supplies.

[feminitis]

A sound idea. It seems we can't get out of here just yet, which means we'll be limited to whatever food and water is on hand. [which does concern her, unless it's the magically restocking kind; still, they won't have any way to know that until it either does or does not replenish itself.] We'll want to make sure we have some way of washing up and, ideally, we find something else to wear while we're here as well; if we stick to just the clothes on our back, that could get rather unhygienic very quickly.

[she stretches a little, then begins to look around...]

Ah. Let's keep an eye out for something to write with and on, as well. If we want a good record of our supplies, we should set it down in writing so we don't misremember what we had.

[tactic]

This is bringing back memories.

[ He sounds cheerful about it, but their situation does feel dire when he takes stock of their one bathroom, some pajamas, and then a final count of their food and water supplies. ]

... Well, let's hope we either find a way off this bus, or delivery becomes an option, because it's looking as though we'll last a week or two max with what we have.

[feminitis]

[she's frowning by the time they've finished taking stock of their resources, because she has never been in a two-week game.]

Two weeks will be pushing it, yes... We'll have to balance keeping ourselves well-fed enough to be strong if something comes up with not eating so much that we run out of supplies before w can find some way to restock. But we all seem like reasonable enough people, so we should be able to manage that.

[if she spots anyone eating more than their fair share she will fight them. it's fine.]

I can't say I'm a fan of rationing, but it wouldn't be the first time. We'll make it through.

I like the positive attitude!

[ He's going to take a pencil and a notepad from one of the board game and jot down their supplies while he continues yapping. ]

This doesn't account for people that are bound to show up. I don't know how many bodies you guys averaged in a week, but for us, it was something close to four or five.

[feminitis]

Whoa - that many?

The first week tends to just be one person. If our supplies won't last us more than a week or two, then... hmm, we should probably plan our portions for if we get two new arrivals a week from now. Then if we only get one, we'll have a little more than we'd initially set aside.

We'd see two or somtimes three in the later weeks, but...

[by the time they get further in these supplies will have run out...]

[ YOU WERE PART OF THAT INSANE BODY COUNT ]

Just something to remain aware of in the back of our minds. I'm certain we'll get a better understanding of what we're in for after that initial week passes.

[ Scribbles along!! And then abruptly pauses to look up. ]

I just realized, silly me, but we never introduced ourselves.

[feminitis]

[they really just went straight to business... she laughs, feeling a little foolish.]

My name is - [he looks like a white guy so she's going to go given name first for ease here. she's met enough white people in murdergames by now...] - Seizaburo Kamiya. I'm sure we both wish this wasn't happening, but it's nice to meet you all the same!

[ IN TEARS ]

It's nice to meet you too, Miss Seizaburo. Call me Aventurine. It may not be the most ideal of circumstances, but I'm looking forward to working with you.

[feminitis]

—who are you calling miss?! Seizaburo is a man's name!

[ PAUSE... ]

You're a man...?

[feminitis]

[scowling - ]

Yes! I am!

[she is not, but she has been living as a man in the shinsengumi for four years now so she insists that she is so she doesn't blow her cover and be made to leave. it's fine.]

Just because I'm short and I have a delicate face... ugh, I'd forgotten how annoying it is to not be among people who have known me for years and don't question it anymore.

[tactic]

Alright. Mr. Seizaburo, then. My apologies, you won't catch me making that mistake a second time.

[ He does feel bad... ]

Let me make it up to you. How does an extra bag of [ looks at what food they have ] peanuts sound?

[feminitis]

[okay. well. he apologizes so quickly (which is so different from how most people respond in her canon) that she actually feels a little bad about it... oops.]

...no, it's fine. But thank you anyway. [her brows furrow a little as she examines the food.] We probably don't want to be giving out extras of anything, really. Not until we have a better idea of how we'll restock.

[tactic]

The offer remains on the table. How old are you anyway? You look a growing young man.

[ Feed the children first. ]

I turned nineteen years old this year.

[by the way of calculating ages in japan at that point in time, anyway.]

Small for your age, aren't you?

[ Just says this. ]

[feminitis]

Both my mother and my father were short. What am I to do about that?

[tactic]

I don't mean anything by it! Maybe we can find you a small crevice to crawl into for an escape, should the need ever arise.

[feminitis]

...oh! That's true! [she grins, bouncing back from her annoyance very quickly.] Even if we can't find a door big enough for us all to walk through, if even one of us can get outside, it'd be possible to look for more supplies or to find a way to unlock this from the outside.

[tactic]

[ Claps Sei's shoulder with a hand! ]

Precisely! You're our ace in the hole, a precious member of this four-man squad.

[feminitis]

[she laughs, and since this is a day one thread and the only confirmed info they have so far is "a team competition where a trip to australia is the prize," says -]

We'll form our own team. Imagine how surprised everyone will be when the trip to Australia goes to all of us instead. They'll never see it coming!

I would certainly enjoy seeing the shock on everyone's faces. Let's stay in good spirits and work hard.
