BUS? A BUS???

The wheels on the bus (don't) go round and round...

You wake up on a bus.

It's a very nice bus, though. Luxurious, even! The seats are comfy and can be used as beds, with pajamas also available for you to change into. It's stocked with enough food and drink to last a week or so, along with a bathroom that also has a shower and free toiletries to use. The downside, however, is that apparently you have to share—as you're not alone when you awaken.

It seems like you're not where you should be, either. The bus comes equipped with TV screens, but rather than any movie or show, it's reality TV in the most literal sense. You might even recognize a few faces over there in the terminal, but either way, you can watch the participants go about their day. You're as equally confused as they are, after all, even if miles (?) separate you.

For that matter, that's pretty much all you can do. You're stuck on this bus. You can't access where the driver's controls would be, and there's no driver to begin with; in fact, the bus isn't even moving. The doors are shut, and any attempt to break the windows will send you bouncing back. Opening the shutters will treat you to the enticing sight of... outside airport scenery. You're on airport grounds somewhere, but you can't tell anything other than that. If you do some digging around, though, one compartment on the bus contains a random assortment of card games and board games for you to entertain yourselves with.

Better get cozy, because you might be here for a while.

Let's just say they were similar. [ haha yay! ] Two for two, then. I can appreciate those odds.

While I wish the circumstances were more in our favor, I have to say that this is better than having to go at it alone.

[ but i refuse to talk tactics (ha) this early in the game so instead wriothesley will nod back towards the television. ]

Which of the ones gathered in there are your friends?

[ If they're gonna chill, Aventurine will grab a deck of cards from the floor and drop down into a seat. They may be trapped in a bus, but at least it's a nice, spacious bus.

He'll pat the seat next to him for Wrio before turning to observe the people on screen, expertly shuffling the deck in his hands for something to do. ]

The cowboy cyborg, the glum, purple elf with the cat, the girl whose face you can't make out, and... [ squints ] oh, the ordinary-looking one there.

[ He's talking about Todomatsu. ]

[ the way that 'ordinary-looking one' is oddly specific given the eclectic cast on the television and yet still encompasses just enough people that the additional direction is helpful. but he successfully clocks the other three at least. ]

Interesting assortment. [ though the same could be said for his own group. ] I wonder why only some of them are here and not all.

[ also he did take a seat i just forgot to write it earlier ]

[ Wrio sits down and the entire bus tilts to one side.

But Aventurine wonders the same thing. He stops shuffling the cards so he can drape an elbow over the back of his seat. ]

Maybe we're just the unlucky few. [ His mg luck is so... bad... ] What about you? Who are the ones you recognize?

[ the adventures of wrio's bottom and aventurine the bottom. also important question: does aventurine manspread and is he manspreading right now? ]

[ he looks at the television screen, and then starts listing off each person out one by one. ]

The young lady with the bright pink hair, the energetic gentleman in the yellow coat, the woman with the long ears and lovely red hair, and [ hm ] the gentleman with the striking yellow eyes and long golden hair.

[ I FORGOT ICHIBAN BECAUSE THIS ISN'T SCAWWY ICHIBAN

And oh, yes. He is 100% manspreading and it's actually egregious. But he will make a mental note of these people. ]

Makes you wonder how often this sort of thing happens, doesn't it? It looks as though plenty of reunions are happening as well.

[ Watches people he does not know recognize Frumpkin which is weird. ]

If you ask me, more often than anything like this should reasonably be happening.

[ hello?? they are being ushered to their (possibly fake???) deaths for no explicable reason? that's fucked up. ]

Tell me about it. We didn't even get a fair chance.

[ STRAIGHT TO THE BUS WITH THEM ]

Hey, how early did you die anyway? The previous time.

[ easily, like he's talking about the weather and not his own fucking death: ]

[ overly dramatic sigh!! ]

That would be impressive, wouldn't it? But I actually prefer being alive over being dead, despite what these repeat occurences might suggest.

We're in full agreement with each other.

[ Looks back to the screen... ]

If this is the same as before, we'll find a way out.

[frostfist]

[ can't believe aventurine doesn't want to die? aventurine looks at the tv screen. wriothesley looks at aventurine. ]

You the optimistic type?

[tactic]

[ He has Reasons to Live now, but he will look back at Wriothesley. ]

Something along those lines. Don't tell me you're the doom and gloom type.

Anyway, he's going to give Wrizzley a once-over, and then look back at him like really, my guy? This goth punk aesthetic? ]

I simply believe that a person's wardrobe says much about who they are. And you, Mr. Wriothesley, look as though you'd like to spend as much time in the dark as possible.
