graveyard...3

GRAVEYARD
Notice of an itinerary change—
Well, shucks! You died. This might be a familiar experience for you, maybe not. Either way, you're probably feeling distinctly less dead now, with any injuries you previously obtained now healed. Grogginess still clouds your mind, but in a way that's reminiscent of waking up rather than anything nefarious.
... Not too unlike when you first arrived here, actually. Namely, because you wake up in what looks to be an airport terminal. Again! It's not quite the same as the one you were in before, but you're not free of airports yet, it seems. To be specific, you're in the baggage claim area, in the most literal sense: lying in an open suitcase on the carousel, going round and around (or, if you were unlucky, you might've tumbled out of the suitcase as it slid down onto the conveyor belt). You might want to hop off at some point.
If you're worried about your belongings, you can find them either on your person or in another suitcase chugging along on the belt. Once you retrieve everything, there's a new area to explore. Plus, reunions to be had with those who died before you, or with the four Hosts you haven't seen since the first week. And should you be worried about the living side, there are various screens around the terminal, allowing you to still watch what's going on over there.
► GRAVEYARD RUNDOWN
  • You are able to see the living (and their public network posts).
  • Weekly effects are still active.
  • Any personal items you didn't give away before your death are with you in the graveyard.
  • You can still use your curse items on the living, with the usual caveats of avoiding OOC inconvenience (e.g. no effects that would last into Thursday night).
  • The graveyard has its own set of NPCs (Maestro, Bora, Libeccio, Scirocco). You are no longer able to contact the living side's NPCs via audiences, but you can talk to the other four once again.
  • If you get injured and would like to be healed (within reason), the graveyard NPCs can heal to varying degrees, so feel free to handwave tapping them until you got one who could help you.
  • You may handwave the NPCs explaining the basics to you: you're alive again, but you're unable to regroup with the "living" side due to lacking a mode of transportation to the airport terminal where they are, and a barrier is blocking people from leaving the old-fashioned way. Trying to book a ride is a work in progress for the entire graveyard.
  • As of Week 4, the memshare effect from Week 3 remains.

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Jonas
Message Content: You understand Maya pretty well, huh? Though I'm not surprised, I've always known that you had a sharp eye. I'm glad she has a friend like you. Shouki is his usual self too. He's not bothered by what happened and how it happened, not that I know any of the details, but it seems like it all panned out the way he expected it to.

Jacopo deserves to be bullied, but I'm also glad you're part of the Furry Finny Alliance now. Speaking of interesting stories, I made everyone dress up as maids just like Rin wanted. Don't you think it's your turn to set something up? Susato told me that all of you were thinking of putting up an omegaverse booth. I'm looking forward to it next week. If you don't, then tell Haru that I absolutely can stew him from this airport.

P.S. It tells me a lot. Thank you, Jonas. Even though he's not the one I met, I still enjoyed reading about him. He sounds similar in so many ways -- the struggle with honesty, the friendliness that seems like a front at times. He's a kind person, but he's not kind to himself. He doesn't think he has much to offer others, and that they all mostly want only one thing from him, if they want anything at all. He can be infuriating. You know, he never did say he loved me? I was also the one who confessed first. But then again I never told him that I loved him either. We're both terrible and infuriating and stubborn, and we both understand each other. I think in the end that's what I want most. When all you have is a long unending existence ahead of you, you just want at least one person to see you for who you are. I think you'll understand that too, seeing as you have one of your own. Or maybe two?

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Rin
Message Content: Your maid cafe idea worked! It's all thanks to you and your love for maids. If you think of anything else, then feel free to tell us to do them. Maya and I will patiently wait for your booth from this side.

Speaking of Maya, I'll do my best to take care of her too. Siffrin as well.

Object(s) Mailed: a photograph of manwol and maya in maid outfits

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Haru
Message Content: And she's right! Iris knows me very well. But I'll try not to, since we need you and Rin on that side. I can only see you two when you're in public and during trial, so those are the only places where Maya and I can watch you guys talk about omegaverse. You will talk about it, won't you? You should, even if it's for a short time or during trial. It would make me happy, and I know it would make Bora happy too.

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Rosamund
Message Content: Hello, Rosamund. I received all the gifts you sent me, and I appreciate them very much, especially the keychain and the shoes. You really do have the best taste out of everyone on that side.

I am glad that everyone's treating you well, even if you might not think you deserve it. But what you think is right is different from what I think, which is okay. You wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it wasn't. You killed against your will. I killed because I wanted to see if I could get points. That's how it was like at the school, you know. I'm not sure if you heard about it from Maya or Rupert yet, but I was part of a group of killers. We would kill a person every week who was in danger of losing their memories and assimilating. It was the only way to slow down the assimilation as a whole, but we couldn't tell anyone else the truth or they would die too.

I've lived for far too long and seen so many people die, and I've killed my fair share too, out of grief and vengeance. The school was the first time I killed for the sake of someone else. It was still terrible of course, and I irreparably hurt someone who was very dear to me -- but if I had to go back, I would still choose to do it again. Just like how I'd choose to go out that night and kill. Not because I thought Childe's life was meaningless, but because I thought I could protect the whole by sacrificing him.

It all sounds like an excuse, doesn't it? And it is. But I'd like it if you could think about what I said. You're far more compassionate than I am, and kinder too. So I wonder if you would agree with what I did. I wonder if you'd agree that killing could save lives. I'd like your honest thoughts about it, so don't hold back with your reply.

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Iris
Message Content: It wasn't a bother at all. I enjoyed yanking his ear, even though he didn't seem to understand at all. Should I yank the other one too? Do you think he likes violence so much that it would just seem like a reward to him? Should I curse him instead? I'd be happy to for you.

As for Seo, I'd also be happy to punch him for you. I don't dislike him, but I don't hate doling out justice on your behalf. You could also ask Wisadel or maybe Vi? I just think that the women here would get the job done faster.

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Kazuki
Message Content: I liked it very much! The basket and the dolls. I've never been one for collecting, but there's something about holding a rare item that makes me smile. It was sweet to see you humor Mordalion when he was begging for one. I know our team isn't much of one, but you've always been a good team leader.

Object(s) Mailed: a blank music manuscript book, and another book of guitar music

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Rupert
Message Content: Thank you, Rupert. I know that we can all depend on you. Maya and Hulkenberg have arrived safely. Maya is her usual cheery self, which means I'm worried about her, and Hulkenberg had a very sweet reunion with Vi and Strohl (after she finished punching him). I was very nervous to see you on the screen, but I had faith that you would pull through.

You're right that I can't clarify, but what I said might not be relevant to you specifically. There are some things that can only be accomplished by people with bloody hands -- even if our hands were bloodied in the past. That was the past, and this is the present.

If you really want to help, then you should tell me who's been kissing.

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Alex
Message Content: Childe's overjoyed that Scaramouche is here, and vice versa. They're having so much fun together that it's like the rest of us don't exist to them. Their profound and moving friendship should be written down in history books. How did they ever exist without having the other with them? Were they always this attached to the hip in hell?

Object(s) Mailed: several photos of childe and scaramouche slappyhands fighting. childe is clearly angry. scaramouche is laughing. also essek is in the background looking very tired

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Kaworu
Message Content: All of you have sent me so many gifts, even after I said you didn't have to. I'm obviously very happy that you did though. Thank you, Kaworu. I do wish that I could give you something that would make you happy too. We've all experienced loss, but you've had an even worse time of it since Anders died. This place is cruel beyond measure, isn't it? The auditors deserved a worse death than by horse. Maybe I'll hunt for their souls instead and annihilate them from existence. It would be the least of what they deserve, wouldn't it?

Strohl and Hulkenberg have reunited, and Anders continues to be his usual self. Oh, he asked Essek out on a date this week. I had no idea they were so close. Do you think it's because they're both mages? You should ask him for the details. I'm sure he'll tell you all about it.

Object(s) Mailed: several books of piano music

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Caiman/South
Message Content: Besides being annoyed at myself that I didn't realize it was you? I'm alright. Maya is doing her best to seem her usual self, which means I have to keep a closer eye on her.

I am sorry that I didn't realize. It feels especially foolish after all the time I've spent thinking of our Fall dorm. I don't mind the team I have here, but I still miss my very first one. How did both you and Iris get caught up in this mess? Is it because Wiwaldi is so popular?

-- Manwol

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Ace
Message Content: He's mine, so of course I'm going to carry his picture and name around! Or do pirates not like to show off what they have? You should hurry up and get a keychain of Tama too, or maybe a piece of jewelry that reminds you of her. Matching bracelets or rings are never out of style, you know.

-- Manwol

Object(s) Mailed: a set of bracelets

Day: Sunday
Recipient: North / Susato
Message Content: I had a very good laugh reading your letter, Susato, so thank you for that. It makes me smile thinking about how hard all of you are working on my silly suggestion. Surely the others won't reject yours and East's hard work after all that effort! I trust in their bonds of friendship with you and with me, even Jacopo's.

I think you'll be able to see the other hosts soon. Some things happened and apparently they were able to leave? It gives me hope that the rest of us will able to do the same soon. I hope you all spend some quality time together. Let me know if you or Iris end up tossing Jae-ha to the ground.

-- Manwol

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Todomatsu
Message Content: I don't normally wear shirts like this, you know. But I am still fond of our group, so I'll wear this one just for you. The gifts are nice, but I do miss talking to you. Do you have any gossip or stories? They can be about anything, and you don't have to write them in a letter. We can see all of you whenever you're in public and during trials, so maybe then? Trial would be better, since we're all in the same place and we don't miss anything.

Oh, you and your team should send us finger hearts during trial. If anyone asks, then you can explain that it's a popular pose from Korea and Japan.

I'd send something nice to you too, but there's nothing we have here that you don't have or will have. Besides giant murderous lobsters.

-- Manwol

Object(s) Mailed: a picture of Manwol wearing the task redundancy solutions expert shirt and holding her hand up in a fingerheart gesture

Day: Sunday
Recipient: Kate
Message Content: I'll look after them both -- Maya and Childe. They're both so different, but also similar in that they're not very easy to take care of, don't you think? They put on a front that will put the people they care about the most at ease, though I'm sure you've already noticed.

There's a library here that reminded me of you. I hope you enjoy the books I picked out. 🌕 Some of them have lessons that I think the others could emulate.

Object(s) Mailed: a collection of romantic fairy tales that all end with a kiss scene and also an encyclopedia on pop culture
